I sanded the panel with 320, cleaned it with a oil/wax remover, tack ragged it, then painted it. I get one ot two BB sized spots where it looks like the paint wanted nothing to do with the metal. What am I doing wrong?

That is called fish eyes.Usually it is the result of having oil or silicone in the paint. It's best if you clean the surface before and after you sand. The only way I know to prevent this is to add some Smoothie(basically, just silicone) to the paint.

Actually your not doing nothing wrong. Its a contaminate of some sort. Some of the time, if there not to bad, as you see them when your clearing off, you can add some extra clear to that area and when its time to sand and buff, you can sand them right out. Also, it happens to the best of us, so dont feel bad.

Fisheyes suck. We had one a couple months ago that was very clean, but fisheyed like crazy. Ended up finding out that something got into the paint gun or the container the sealer was mixed in. Mixed a freash batch in a different gun and they were all gone.
If they are in the clear I have done what ragtopman said, I like to dab it while the clear is still tacky on the car. Then make sure to use a block and treat it like a run otherwise it will look like it has a pimple.

Check your hoses, Gun, and moisture Canister(if equipped) to make sure nothing has gotten in there. Also a good way to keep your guns clean is after painting something clean the gun and put about 1/2 a dixie cup of thinner in the gun and spray until empty then let air dry over night.
When cleaning a surface don't touch it with your bare hands wear rubber gloves and a full sleeved shirt (elbows and arms have oils as well http://www.camaros.net/forum/biggrin.gif )

The list goes on and on but these are the major ones

madmikeee, In you post you mentioned dixie cups, and it made me remember a bad fisheye problem we had about 2 years ago. Our paint jobber sent out some small cups (about the size of dixie cups) to mix small quantities of primer. Well we suddenly had some fisheye problems, but only on some vehicles. It took a while to figure out, but the coating that was on the inside of the cups was causing fiseyes in the primer.
I just thought I would mention it so people could see how frusterating and hard it can be to pinpoint a fish eye problem.
BTW, the cups were made FOR mixing paint.
