What is a 1969 Camaro with 37,000 miles worth? Car has stock interior and has been repainted the orignal color. Car has disc, PB, PS, AC and upgraded motor(LT1) and trans(th400) and 12 bolt. NO RUST at all. Also has orignal motor with sale. Car is very nice shape. All paper work.

This car will be with the family for many years to come and want to make sure this is the correct deal for us.

Please tell me what you think it is worth.

sounds nice. is it a plain jane camaro or some special package car. The cowl tag would help some as well. You did not note if there is original documentation with the car as well. If so that helps. I would say at least 20K and more depending on the options/codes of the car. Bottom line is it a car you would like to have and what is it worth to you.

photos will go a long way towards determining a value...

The build sheet is still on top of the gas tank. The car has all docs. No special X codes just a basic 307 car with auto (currently out of the car as other motor is currently in it) and the ps,pb,ac,disc, vinyl top.

Sounds like the entire drivetrain has been changed. I would want to verify the mileage is correct as not many 37,000 mile cars would go through a complete drivetrain swap. With all of the original components included I would put the car in the low 20's. Maybe mid 20's if it's really nice and the mileage is documented. Add a few thousand more if it's a RS.

And why would a new paint job be on it as well? Photos would help.
Anyway, 17 to 20 K is in the ball park.

Good luck and enjoy your car.

"All paperwork" can be misleading, what is "All"? Dealer invoice, window sticker, POP card, etc? What is included in paperwork?
If the broadcast sheet is still on top of the gas tank, it should be removed right away and preserved. All the other paper work can be cloned but that sheet on the tank is worth thousands of $$ in resale value of the car. :)

The car is 39 years old and has 37,000 miles. If it is a California car the paint may have faded, and required a repaint. I had a 69 with 30,000 miles and it had one repaint. It was in a fender bender when it was 1 year old and the owner had the whole car painted, he worried that he would have two different shades on the car. You will be able to tell if this car is true to it's mileage by just looking at it. Probably shift on the column, although I am surprised about the disc brakes. This car should be worth more than 17 to 20. If you are thinking of an investment, it will not go up much, but will lose nothing. For a fun car to take to cruise nights and shows it will be great. It is amazing what a set of wheels and some stripes will do for a plain Camaro. I have seen six bangers that look amazing.
What is the asking price for the car?
The funny thing is that when I bought my original 69 Z in 1969 the list price was 4500 dollars. My friend bought a Daytona Yellow 307 car with shift on the column, full hubcaps, vinyl roof, and that was about it and it listed at 3800. Canadian of course.

Without bulletproof documentation in the form of service receipts showing the miles and dates, the milage is suspect. The odometer is pretty simple to turn back or it may not even be the original speedo.

IMHO... Mileage doesnt tell the tale. example, Last year a buddy bought a 1999 SS Camaro. Wow, only 3137 miles showing in the OD. Paid about $10,000. Apparently, this car had been bracket raced most of it's life. Some guy peeled off the stickers and put it on Ebay. Car was trashed mechanically although the body was near mint. My point... 3137 miles put on 1/4mile at a time is a long life for a car!!

Like everyone else has said... Lets see pics and papers!! It sounds like you have a nice car on the line!! Jb

Click...Next time you find a build sheet on a tank. Remove the tank and leave the sheet on it. Put another tank in. Take pics of the tank as you are removing it from the car. Or drop the tank and take a good digital pic of the sheet, Tape clear plastic over the sheet and put the tank back in.

Yep Charley, when I dropped my tank in my search for mine, the tank had been out before and it was gone. :( Ive always suggested just as you did, take digital pics of it and protect the heck out of it :D

Hi guys,

I am the owner of the Camaro. I had a feeling there may be a thread on here about the car. It is a 37K actual mile car. Unfortunately, I do not have any docs to back it up other than the title and an old for sale ad for the car. The original steering wheel and shifter show no wear on the grain. The interior is all original minus the dashpad. Even the carper is original. The car has the original spatter paint in the trunk. The car had been repainted a darker green earlier in its life, so I repainted it back to the original color of frost green. The entire drivetrain was changed in order to support the engine swap. The swap was done back in 88 and the car has not really been driven since. It has been on non-op since 1998. I had the car repainted last year; life has gotten in the way so I have not totally reassembled the car or aligned all panels, etc. It still needs some trim and emblems installed and some detailing. I snapped a few quick shots for those who want to see pictures. I did not have the car on the market. The poster of this thread (nice guy) contacted me about some parts I had for sale and asked if I had a 69 Camaro. I told him I was considering selling mine since I have not touched it for some time. That is why it is not totally assembled. It is really a cool car and after driving it yesterday I am motivated to take the few days it will take to get the car back together.

This car is super clean. I was very intrested but other family members were not. The seller (Jason) is a great guy, I am sorry that I could not make others feel the same way I did about the car.

Someone is going to be super happy with this car.

You're going to let "other family members" dictate whether or not you buy a Camaro??

Buy the car....you can get used to sleeping in the garage!! :)

Wear on often handled and used parts of the interior (steering wheel and brake pedal come to mind) can be another gauge to use when verifying claims of low mileage.

The wear items on this car are mint. The steering wheel has fantastic grain. The shifter is unworn. The brake pedal pad and carpet are in very good shape. The miles are actual but I have no paperwork to back them. The driver's seat is even still very comfortable. Either way, I am just happy to now have the motivation to finish assembling the car.
