Where can I find information on the original smog equipment on my 1968 L34 motor. When I was young and foolish, I remember removing the stuff....I don't remember what I did with it however.

Bob, what is it you're looking for? Most of the info is in the AIM.

Things like the correct number pump. The brackets, hoses and other componenet numbers. How to decode the date. If you assume I don't know anything about that system, you're pretty close.

Okay, in that case, yes, the AIM is what you need to reference. Although it's listed under L35, the L34 used the same components. As for date coding and additional information, check out the CRG REPORT (http://www.camaros.org/emissions.shtml).

Here is a NOS '68 big block setup that just ended. The pump would be the same but the bracket would be different. The BB diverter valve bolts to the tab seen on the bracket.

It was not shown in the pics, but there is a relief valve on the top of the pump like the Ford CJ & SCJ pumps to 1973. The Camaro 1968 pump was a one year only style, but they did make them up to '72 based on my personal experience. The mfg. date is on a pad on the side of the pump that ends in the letter 'Y'. The pump year date is cast into the front behind the fan in a two digit code. Ex: 72

That was one hell of a good price. Unless you get as lucky as the winning bidder, be prepared to pay a LOT more! That price would be a good price if it was used. As NOS, it's really cheap!!
