No replies in the Body Shop... thought I would try in here. I am getting ready to weld in some bracing so any help appreciated!

-----

Doing a little planning on the work for my 68 convertible. She needs a lower firewall, full rockers and a one piece floor. Probably needs about the same in the rear, but I haven't taken a good close look yet. While I was out in the garage thinking through the process, I started to worry that she is possibly so far out of whack due to rot, that bracing the interior in her current state may lock the "whack" in.

So my question. Does anyone have, or know of, any interior dimensions and reference points that could be checked? As a note, the doors and top fit well, but she did go through a cosmetic restoration some years ago so they may have "made it work".

Thanks!

Donald, I dunno if this will help but, I have a 68 coupe with all the interior removed and can take measurements for you if you lemme know what dimensions would help.

As with any convertible I would be really careful with alignment especially if you are planning to do any frame work as well.

My 68 Convertible is about to go to the Frame Shop prior to getting suspension work and mods. They plan on spending most of the time aligning and refitting before any mods like frame connectors or roll-bar (yes I am putting a small retro style but functional unit in) are made.

Best of luck to you and let's make it a point to report back.

Yeah that is the thing... I'm not sure what measurements would be good. Does anyone know what the angle of the A pillars should be when the rockers are level? I believe this would be the same for a coupe and a vert, but I am not sure.

The other night I looked closer at my door gaps and the passengers side really looks nice. If I can dig out the drivers side (buried behind boxes) I'll look at it closely as well. The top fits nice, so if the door gaps look really good I think I might just add interior braces and move forward. However, I'd feel better with something to check.

I want to get the interior braces welded in so I can continue with disassembly and not have to worry about the gaps changing.

Thanks gang!
