View Full Version : What do you all think of this 67 vert?
boston95 Apr 8th, 08, 02:00 PM Does the nose look funny to you?

Eric Kammerer Apr 8th, 08, 02:20 PM It's been hit. Bumper is pushed in and up, and upper part of lower valence is pushed in.
edhjohnb Apr 8th, 08, 02:21 PM It's hard to tell from the pictures, but it looks to me like the bumble bee stripe is a little too close to the edge of the fenders...anyone agree?

Oh yeah, that too!
boston95 Apr 8th, 08, 02:38 PM Erik, are you sure its been hit??
I have a close up...how to I add a pic?
Eric Kammerer Apr 8th, 08, 02:56 PM Unless it is an optical illusion on several of the photos, taken from different angles, it appears to have been hit. The top edge of the lower valence should match the leading edge of the header panel; in other words, the grille is straight up and down, not pushed back at the bottom, when properly installed.
It's actually a very common location for damage, and the way it looks is the way most of them end up. There's a whole lot of front end on a 1st gen, and the bumper is the first thing to hit (as it should be). These cars are about 6-8 years too early for 5 MPH bumpers (thank goodness).
LCAC_Man Apr 8th, 08, 03:21 PM I agree with Eric, light hit up front. Looks like someone bought it offline, love the blue on blue color scheme.
boston95 Apr 8th, 08, 03:32 PM Well, question is......is it worth buying. It only has 67k miles. Can this be fixed such that you never knew it happened??
How do I add a pic not from a website for you guys to see??
Eric Kammerer Apr 8th, 08, 04:16 PM The damage shown is probably an easy fix. Find a good used GM bumper and have it rechromed, and get a good used or NOS RS valence panel and have it painted to match. From there it is a simple process to remove the damaged parts and replace. If I was having it fixed and paint matched, I'd have to fix the bumblebee too. It looks too wide, is lined up weird (looks like it slants toward the rear of the car on the driver side fender), and should have gaps where the 'rs' emblems are.
"is it worth buying?" is a whole other can of worms... there is only one shot of the underside. On a 67-69 F-body vert, the condition of the rockers is critical (vert rockers have three panels, an outer, and inner, and a center rib); if the inner rockers are rotted, the car will sag to the middle. There is also extra bracing under the floors, at the toeboard/floor junction, under the back seat, behind the rear seat side panels, etc, that you want to make sure is intact and in place.
It's missing the rocker molding; has the wide RS molding, but not the spear.
I see the rear cocktail shakers (in trunk); are the fronts present too?
If the car is super nice, 327/210 Glide car, it seems that it should be less than $30K as it sits. It is a vert, but...
To post photos, they need to be on a site like Photobucket and then linked here.
3forme Apr 8th, 08, 04:39 PM a little crazy with the orange spray can IMO, you should see this one in person, again JMO.
Looking at the add again, is the air cleaner even on straight?
