Got my new aluminum radiator and fan set up installed and just wanted the electricians here to verify my work. I connected the battery power leads to the junction block by the battery and the keyed switch leads to the horn relay. The toughest part was getting the wires long enough and a spike sharp enough to stick into the ground (still frozen) for ground. Just kidding. This is using 2 fused relays in the cuircutry. There is a temp. switch in the manifold. Should I be good to go? Thanks.

The horn relay is hot all the time. Otherwise it sounds ok. Did you fuse the power leads?

I agree with Steve's observation. Fuses or breakers are a good idea. I presume the wiring to turn the relays on and off is in place already (temp sender, AC compressor).

So should I have connected to another source then the horn relay? I thought I had read in a post that the horn relay was a keyed source.

The horn relay definately is not keyed. I'd get my fan power from the terminal block on the radiator support in front of the battery. The relays could be mounted nearby. Put a breaker or fuse between the relays and terminal block. Switch power can be obtained from a few different places. The IGN circuit is what you'll need to tap into. I'd stay away from ACC for fans.

I went to a site that had the dual spal fan wiring diagram. I am using a premade wiring harness. Everything is hooked up like the pic shows for dual fans. Battery power I am getting from the junction block thru the fuses and the relays as shown. The only difference is that their orange wire is going to a keyed source. So the fans will shut off when the key is turned off. Correct? So by me having it (the 2 wires coming off of the relays) going to the horn relay instead of the key. The fans should keep running even after I shut off the key until the temp. is lowered by the sensor telling it so. Then they shut off. Is this correct?

Yes Ted, correct. Your fans will keep running until she's cool, key on or not.
Nothing wrong with that, I've had new cars that were wiired that way.

without coolant flow, won't that only cool the radiator and not the engine?

It'll cool the engine off too, albeit slowly. You'll at least get some cooling by induction, and might even get a small convection current going.
