I run one similar. No extra box though. It is MSD HEI 8365. But with the large cap with the coil in it you may have to dimple the firewall. I had too. You may be better off with the MSD ready-to-run 8360 and the external coil. It's more the stock dist. size. Jim the moderator has one and seems to be happy. Edit: No I don't, I used to use an 8360 with Blaster2 coil. Jim

I use the Pro Billet MSD 8360 Ready to Run Distributor with a Blaster 3 Coil in all of my cars. No clearance issues with the firewall because of the smaller cap and external coil.

I'm a Mallory man, been running the unilite for 20 years however I couldn't afford the unilite on my current car therefore I'm running the cheaper Mallory dual point distributor with vacuum advance unit and the cool part is that it can easily be converted to the unilite which I'll do when I get a few extra bones!:thumbsup:

If you've got a street car with a carb, then I'd be sure and run a dizz with a vacuum advance. Vacuum advance is really a must-have for high-performance street cruising IMHO..........

Check Summit's own brand. I run a single point system with MSD Blaster coil. Works perfect.

I use a Pro Form Distributor. Works well for me. Not too expensive.

sounds like you forgot something... that looks like an 82551 dist--distributor is $232, the 6AL is $219, the wires are $80, the coil is $38, coil bracket is $5. Still about $15 cheaper Summit than Jegs.

I ran the MSD 8360 for about 11 years. I had a 6AL too for the first 5 years until it died, then I yanked the 6AL and ran the Blaster 2 off the 8360's internal module. The 8360 was still working great when I sold the engine a few months ago.

I run a Pertronix dizzy with a Crane Hi-6 digital box and Crane Fireball coil(#PS-92). No problems. I had an Accel HEI dizzy with large cap(Burnt up in fire) and they had to dent firewall. Also, used to run an MSD 6AL, but switched to the Crane HI-6 digital box and glad I did. No more RPM modules to worry about and more power as well. Just my experience.
