thats awsome!!! I remember when I was in high school I took an auto machanics class that was 2 periods long(wasnt college prep or anything). I didnt really care about cars back then and really just took the class so I wouldnt have to set behind a desk for two hours. I wish I would have paid a little more attention now. Congrats!!

I don't know what your math skills are like but with todays cars being high tech todays auto techs are needing to know more and more.

If you can get into some advanced math while in high school it will be very much worth your time and effort. There is a calulation for almost everything. My son hated school and can do trig in his head (no kidding) and when he got a job at body shop he was looking over the guys shoulder that works on the frame machine. The guy was figuring a calcualtion for some pulls. Steven tells him that one is this, this one is that and the last one is this amount.

Needless to say he was laughed out of the frame shop!! About 10 minutes later the owner of the shop and the frame guy come over and asked him to figure a few more angles and pulls. They were amazed that he could just look at the numbers and in seconds give them answers. The owner has invested in another frame machine and is sending Steven to school on the shops $$$ to learn how to use it. The classes he is taking are costing the owner about 3k total. He has already been contacted by the local tech, ICAR and the frame machine people asking about him and if they were somehow messing around because Steven just comes up with answers with out doing a single formula on paper!!

All this from a kid that we had to shove through school to the very last day!! He aced every math class he was ever in though....LOL!!

I think we should cut Nick a break on the spelling. There are plenty of kids nowadays in front of a playstation or doing drugs with no motivation to better themselves and no plans for their future. Nick seems like a good kid and trying to make something of himself.

Congrats Nick on the school, it's nice to see a young guy with motivation and plans for himself. Good job!! I know plenty of people who can't spell well and are doing just fine with their lives.:hurray:

Congrats Nick. I seem to remember your first post here about you being 12. So that would make you about 15 now? Man, how time flies.

I should have prefaced my comment with a big , cudo's and congrats... I will do that now.

Nick, it's fantastic that you have this opportunity. Take full advantage of it and follow your dreams. H o w e v e r...

Learning good fundamentals will only benefit you. You don't have to do it, but it would be wise. I have conversed with you on several occasions in this forum and have always been straight forward and courteous in my responses and retorts. My post above was not to make fun of you, but to give a display of bad spelling on steroids. I didn't want to embarrass you. My intent was, in my own sickly, humorous way, to encourage you to press on toward building your vocabulary and spelling skills. I believe that you will go further, faster and have more opportunities if you do. It won't make you a better person, and it won't put a blemish on your character if you don't. I just think that at a young age you have the time and energy... if you want to... to broaden your prospects for ever greater things in life if you take advantage of ALL your opportunities when they present themselves. Nobody's perfect, least of all me. But that shouldn't stop you from trying.

In any event, I will endeavor to make this the last time I point my finger and talk about a fault that of someone else's that is none of my business. If my previous post offended you, please accept this as my apology. Best of luck to you in all you do.
