Alright, spring time arrives and cars are coming out of storage. The coupe is for my brother and have started to shop around.

Came across a 69 SS RS that looks very presentable.

Details.....

Car is a very solid driver and with some work could show. Engine is a 350 (this car is not matching) that is very well detailed and runs very smooth. Basically all new panels etc. X44 car 10 bolt single leaf....

Car was originally Frost green on green interior so the insides were painted, all the rest of the interior, details are new.

It's a radio delete right now but the owner will throw in a new cluster (needs painting, no cracks on radio), new front disc brake package (would have to install) and extra console with gages and a few others.

The RS head lights do not work and would need all mechs to get it to work. Also the doors do not line up perfectly straight, especially the driver side.

Overall looks very nice, drives well etc. I was looking for a Cortez Silver coupe or a Black one and this fits the bill. It would be a hard squeeze to pull off the cash right now (would probably be better in a few months) but man, I want it now lol.... Owner states he has invested over $30K...

In my opinion for $30K it better be cherry and i mean cherry, maybe evan just about restored. Thats allot of money and the car is nice, don't get me wrong it looks nice but in reality it really should be a (8-9)... Looks like it may have a little oil leak under it in that pic.

If he says hes got $30K in that means you can offer him $22,500....Times are hard right now.

$25K may be the bottom line. I found a red/black combo in the US that is around the same range....it's just I don't have to worry about the boarder and extra taxes.

decisions....decisions...

Hi, That is still way to much money for that car.... Especially having a 10 bolt mono 1 legger. No way. Just wait there are plenty of deals out there. Hard to see or judge by 1 pic but from the description sounds like you will need to do a lot of work to this car. Agree with Skeeter, maybe 22 for that car....

Guys don't get me wrong, the car does look great. To the average person they would think it's a show car, the engine is compartment is very impressive. But yea, the price is off by a few thousand...we were close to a deal but after looking around I may hold back and wait for better.

Alex for the money, you will be able to pick and choose if you go to a camaro event or just keep looking. But i know how you feel when you want something right now, if thats the car you really want then just low ball him and go from there. It is a buyers market right now.

But also there are to many things the need to be addressed, if your handy then it shouldn't be a problem.... I do most if not all the work on my car.

If you want that car I would approach the owner like this. Offer whatever you think is good and explain that inorder to get the RS headlights to function properly you are going to have to invest another $1,500.00 and see how he responds.
