I have a TON of music in windows media player from cd's & other sources. The problem is since we have new internet windows media player connects to the internet and I cant listen to most of my music because it is wright protected? I can't get a license because of some error with the computer. Is there any way around this?

Another thing is, There is music on youtube I wish I could download to the media player and be burned or put on an ipod. Is it possible to do this from youtube???

I don't know about the utube stuff, but if you search the net for "media player classic" you will find a media player modeled after v6.4, it will play anything.

What version of Windows Media Player (WMP) are you using?

Also I believe you may have the Rip Setting 'Copy protected music' checkbox checked, which will cause the problems you are experiencing, at least for the music you have ripped from cds.

FYI - The following instructions are based on WMP version 10.00
To check your Rip Settings by selecting Tools->Options... from the menu bar, then select the 'Rip Music' tab. In the 'Rip Settings' area of the dialog uncheck the 'Copy protected music' checkbox, then click the 'OK' button below. Now try to playing your music.

The short answer is yes, but it requires using the Firefox browser and writing code using Google's Greasemonkey API. In the end it is still an illegal copy, and if you are going to go that route just go directly to a file sharing site and download it (I am not recommending this).
