I've recently come up with what I think is pretty good inventions, but I have no idea on how to get the ball rolling with them. None of these are car related, but rather more work related. I wouldn't even persue them, but thought of something about 2 years ago and now its being sold. Dang it:noway:. So my questions are... Who do I contact to help me materialize these products? Who do I contact for a patent to "secure" these if they do pan out? I know it sounds kinda dumb, but I think they will work. Thanks, Jason

Hello,
I have gotten several patents on dive equipment and the first thing would be an informal patent search on the website in the previous post. Try to think of all buzz words since it is a keyword driven search engine.
Then you should first get a provisional patent. This will protect you with the Patent Pending label until the non-provisional goes through. This serves as evidence if someone else comes up with the idea. It shows that you already had it.
Since most everything has been thought of out there, a patent attorney can help you decide if there is enough deviation in the event that there is a similar patent out there. Most everything has been sought of to this point in some form or another 8-(...
Document everything - drawings, notes, prototypes - as evidence to the date of your idea.
I found that if it is inexpensive and I was not going to get rich off of them, a patent wasn't really worth it but if it's the next pet rock - submit away!
Good luck man!!!

I have been thinking A LOT about this subject since I originally posted this. I had someone pm me that if I need any help or advice to contact them. I have accidentally deleted that pm and was wandering if they are still out there and hopefully reading this. If so please pm me again. I won't delete it this time. Thanks, Jason

I have seen 3 of my inventions materialize in various catalogs cuz I didn't pull the trigger. I let a couple of years go by thats all it took.
It just sounded so darn expensive
