I have purchased Big Block frame mounts (Classic Industries) from Rick's First Gen. Are they supposed to be different heights? If so, which goes on what side?

Thanks

:beers:

Yes, the BB mounts are different heights. The tall one goes on the drivers side.

Not new to the site but have decided to go big block instead of a ZZ4. It will be finished soon I hope.

They roll our BB's up and over and down lower to the pass. side like over an an inch for steering gearbox/exhaust manifold clearance.

You can use your stock SB cross member by installing a 3-hole Poly Tranny mount by kicking the tranny tailhousing over an inch and installing one bolt into the center hole through the pass. side cross member hole just fine!

And mine's done this way and my Muncie shifter work's FINE!

Thanks for the info about the trans mount. I am going to be using my TH350 for now but may go to a Tremec 5-speed later

If you go TKO, get the kit (or at least the crossmember) from Classic Chevy 5-speed; I don't know if all the other TKO kit sellers have caught up, but CC5S had the only correct crossmember for BB/TKO combo in a 1st gen F-body.
