When you find a place let me know......I am also in Austin. I checked the local place about 500 yards from my house here in Cedar Park, and they told me $150/hour. He said if I wanted to use special media it would be more. I am still on the hunt for something better. I actually bought a 60 gallon 12cfm compressor last week and I am considering buying a blaster and doing it myself. There wont be much left on my car to do. If it is going to be the same price.....for $400-$500 I would rather own the tools and get the experience as opposed to paying someone the same and walking away with nothing. I am in no hurry here......so if it takes me extra time it doesn't matter.
Let me know if/who you find and I will do the same for you.

Once you get your car blasted, you should paint it crimson and cream.. OU colors. I agree about learning to do it yourself. It costs so much to have them restored. But, you have to have it done right.

Lots of threads on here on "home blasting". Everyone I've every talked to, and most threads here (if my feeble memory serves correctly...) say that if there's ONE THING in a resto you don't want to do yourself, it's blasting.
1) It's a completely messy job.
2) You can cause some very serious problems/damage to deal with down the road. Hold that gun in one place just a little too long, you've warped a panel.
3. Time...places that do this professionally, are both good AND quick.
I had mine blasted...cost $1K in Worcester, Ma., and from what I've seen/read, it's worth every penny.
Just my $.015,
Jim
