A friend of mine swapped a 3.4 liter monte carlo intake manifold on a 3.1 liter. And it added around 20 horsepower. Any way i could do something of that nature with my lt1 making into an ls1 or just get some horsepower somewhere from the intake. already have k&n intake.

There are not very many options when it comes to the LT1 intake. You can have the stock one ported to flow more air and run a larger throttle for more air intake or you can purchase one from Edelbrock. The Edelbrock intake does not flow very much more than the stock. The only way to take advantage of more air coming in would be to mod the engine or you're wasting your time. You'll not see very much gains. Also the LS1 intake will not bolt up to the LT1. Did your friend run the car on the dyno to show the HP difference?

nope. he hasn't dyno-ed it yet. but other people who have done it have claimed the horsepower gain. thanks for the advice. been looking at whats best for my car but not going to go over board in pricing.:)
