I need to remove my flywheel to have it balanced. Do I use a puller like the one used to pull the steering wheel? It is on the crankshaft tight and I am looking for the right procedure. Do not want to damage it either.
Thanks!

No puller needed. Tap it with a dead blow hammer or wood block and hammer and it should come off. Might want to put a couple of the bolts back in just barely so it doesn't hit the floor or yourself when it comes loose.

If you have all bolts out, dowel may be only thing holding it with maybe a little dirt and rust. I would put a bolt or two back in and tap outer edges with a rubber or wooden mallet to loosen up. It should start wobbling off as you tap all around edges. Becareful it does not fall off , on you .

OK, I will try that too since it is in the car and not a lot of room to hammer underneath. Like the idea of leaving a few bolts in also.
Thanks

Or get a prybar between the block and pry out.
Yep, hate to read/see the effect when a 30 lb flywheel and gravity are mixed together.
