Its a non numbers matching car. Fresh rebuild on 350 with a 350auto. Very solid. Solid floors/firewall. Some paint bubbles starting to show, but metal under the bubbles. Minimal body filler spots found. Cant exactly verify the SS status. Has the front disk/rear drum brakes. Interior is an 8.5 on a 10 scale. New gas tank. Aftermarket a/c. Ideas on value ?

The master cylinder is for 4 wheel DRUM brakes. If it has disc in the front.....there is a problem. Wrong master (replaced) or discs added without correct master. Bubbles in paint almost always means underlying rust. You may not see it, but it's there. No verification of SS status.....don't pay SS money.
It looks decent in the pics, but with a slow economy and more of these cars coming up for sale all the time, I would offer 15k and let him think about it for a while.

It doesn't have an SS hood or hood springs; does it have a 12-bolt?
Crooked as the SS emblems and 350 emblems are, and without power disc brakes and the SS hood, I am betting that it is not an SS.

Id say 15k also. If the guy lets you....stab a screwdriver into one of the bubbles and see if it goes through.

What I meant earlier, is the paint bubbles were small rust spots..not a bubbling bondo job. I ended up buying the car. Before I bought it, I was able to take the carpet up, and take the back seat, headliner, and panels out, ect... so I could get a good look at the back side of the metal. I know even though its an X11, its not an SS. From what I understand the 67 and 68 SS did have the option of manual disk brakes, but in 69 the SS had to have power disk. Oh well, thats one of the first mods anyway. But its pretty solid all the way around. Solid original pans, but the trunk pan was replaced. I got tired of driving all day to go look a nice picture car, but upclose it was a turd and people wanting premium prices for it. I probably over paid a little, but I didnt have to buy off the internet, was able to look the whole car over, and didnt have to drive 5 states over to get it. Its a good solid driver for the next year, till i really get into it. Oh, before ya ask it was 20k

If you plan on keeping it and you like it then you didn't over pay. Drive it and enjoy it. Nice looking car.

I think you'll be pleased with the car. Just take care of it and you'll get your money back or close to it. I came close to making an offer on a car (my 2nd visit) today but he wouldn't let me drive it again! I got underneath and finally matched up the rear-end numbers. After a while he was tired of me looking at it. I wanted to drive it again before I made a NICE offer... he said "you drove it last time, enough's enough". So, me and my trunk-load of cash drove away. Good luck with your new Camaro!!
