I just bought my 69 x-11 a few weeks back, and been doing some minor repairs and a trans swap. Its been interesting to get to know this car more intimately, especially since the more i get into it the better shape it seems to be in.

While running new trans lines (was a 4 speed) i noticed a lil crud on the lower radiator core, rather then take a chance i tok it out and put in the radiator from my 67 since it was new. I found out it still had the loose radiator mounting bracketrs, and the Radiator had the orginal tag on it, gotta search the tag to see if its correct but it sure looks original.

The other thing i noticed, or havent seen, is any evidence of any body panel replacement, but, i do see what looks to be new seem sealer in a couple areas around the lower rear quarter extensions. Even with the seam sealer the panels around it seem far from new, like someone kinda fixed the seems, i can post pics.

So i started looking at the obvious stuff, the pedals are worn, but not overly worn, the sterring weel is most definatly replacement, but the seats really look original with just slight wear, but i cant tell there is lil to no padding under the seat covers.

The car shows 17k miles, which i never considered acurate, but i must say the more i get into this, the less im beleiving 117k miles. The underside of the car is just freekin perfect, all original lines, floor rockers, nothing looks replaced. To me this really looks like a car that was solid as hell and got a repaint, and a very nice paint job at that.

Unfortunately someone attacked the engine compartment with gallons of super high gloss LOL, i cant wait to fix this.

All of the exterior chrome is new, as is the weather stripping, grill and tail lights.

WHat are some other things i could check to get an idea about this cars milage...The milage on the title was blank when i got it and it did have a previous title number...I shoulda made a copy of the TN title.

IM prolly way off base but this lil bugger has got my interest

One other thing i noticed that was odd, is the fuel line to the carb. It a q jet, and it has a black cloth type fuel line with hose end fittings, i thought they were always steel line from the pump to the carb.

Sounds like your having fun. The seat pad on mine is about the same condition as yours probably. Little to none. The lines were solid steel, previous owner thought it was just easier to deal with rubber fule lines than with hard steel. As you describe the car I dont think it is low mileage. Worn out pads, seat stuffing gone. All sounds like a well over 100K mile car.

How to compare a 17K mile car to 117K miles?
Seventeen thousand miles, the car would be still new, i.e., pads, floor mats, seat covers with no wrinkles, etc.
