bobby, if your Cowl tag, (trim tag) is dirty, its probaby 10d with the rivet thru the (1) the V085 is Los Angeles (van nuys) only internal code in the plant during the build of the car, has no meaning other than which car that day to be built.

The reason the guys know it has to be Oct 68 is that Los Angeles stopped building 69 Camaros a couple of months before Oct 69. Production was shifted solely to Norwood.

I believe the CRG has a sheet that shows VIN numbers against Julien months, but I can't seem to locate it.

bobby, its the 5xxxth Camaro built, not the 5xxx z28 built. There are no records that tell exactly how many Z's or SS's or RS's were built. Just cumulative info. by the VIN number and Body number.

The VIN should be right around L505450.

And Jim (click)... the car is the 5xxx'th CAMARO built.... not Z/28. ;)

Without a doubt, they are at CAMARO Research Group and here at TEAM CAMARO :D. I apologize,I just couldn't resist the temptation to spell the word "CAMARO" in bold letters.l:)
