What is the purpose of the fi clips? If the injectors are being held in place by a mounted fuel rail (TPI) where does the clip help?
Dont get it

Thanks

I dunno, but they worked great when I had an LT1 intake on my 383. To check if the injectors were firing, I just pulled the fuel rail and injectors out, elevated them a bit and cranked the motor....it was very easy to see if they were working or not, LOL! Without the clips the injectors just blow off and fuel would go everywhere....err, ummm...I mean hypothetically it would as I've never done that, LOL!

The clips are an assembly aid during construction.

In assembly line process, imagine cutting down the assembly time by having to deal with half the injectors aligning verses all of the injectors. Plus, its a sure fire way of transporting the rail/injector/fuel line assembly from one place to another without losing parts.

So in the end do you really need them?

Not for individuals like you & me having the time to align everything up.
