Looking for recommendations for the paint type for my metal dash and the fire wall. I know that its black, but when I go to the paint store I'm sure there are 100's of varieties. I would like to find the one's closest to original.

I used Por-15s Chassis black on mine, and have been very happy with the results, even brushed on. I wanted something very durable and resistant to fuel, solvents etc.

I am not sure on the dash paint, looking for something like that myself for the dash pad and console.

Here are some pics of the firewall thou.

Go to eastwoods web site they have a list of different paint for under the hood

There is another place that has all the different shads for under a hood but I can not think of it at this time.

Here is a good thread on the subject. If you do a search you will get lots more opinions. I went with the Rustoleum 7777 over Eastwood's rust encapsulator.

If there is a "Do-It-Best" hardware store around, you can get their "Rustcoat" paint in Satin Black. It's made by, and is the exact same product, as Rustoleum 7777, but a lot cheaper since it's their house brand.
