I'm looking to drill the holes for the HEADER panel emblem and TRUNK panel emblem before my car gets painted. I want every chrome trim piece, emblem, etc, put on the car because I think it looks good. I have looked at the assembly manual and it is very complicated to understand.

The book has the trunk emblem at 125 without the rear spoiler and 121.73 with. What these numbers mean I dunno? As for the header panel emblem the book doesn't show you jack.

I know how to use a tape measure but where to measure from has me by the nads.

I need one of them camaro for dummies books but unfortunately nobody sells one!

Is there a volunteer out there who can take some pictures and draw some measurements on them for a camaro dummie like me? For instance if you told me the header emblem is centered in the middle of the panel and the right edge of the "O" on camaro measures 1 1/2 inches from the right edge of the panel I would understand that. Same with the trunk emblem, I could get them close off the assembly manual pictures but I don't want to catch any flack by the gu ru's if I get them wrong.

What size holes should I drill ? should I go try differnt bits in other emblem holes to get the answer?

Somebody help a brother out.

Thanks.

Try classic industries. They have paper templates for all the emblems. You tape them to the car and line up with panel edges then drill the holes. The templates even tell you what size to drill. I suggest you drill smaller and check the emblem for fit. If you are not quite right you can file the hole over for a perfect fit.Take your time and you will get them right.

Point of information. The pin locations on the GM and the repop fender emblems are not all the same. I wouldn't trust that the header/deck lid emblems are the same either. I made templates from cereal boxes to get the holes right on my GM emblems and repop Yenko emblems.

I can get the header emblem location pretty easily, but the spoiler is in the way for the deck lid. If you have a spoiler, I could give you the dimensions from the front of the deck lid, but not the rear. I could also get you the dimensions from the front of the spoiler.

Thanks for the 411, I looked at about 50 pictures of camaros I took at a show and came to one conclusion. Everybody gets them close but none are the same. Here's some advice for anyone else who runs into this issue and comes across this thread. Go to a show, take lot's of pictures of cars like yours in all different areas. When you get to the point where you start to put things back on, go look at the pictures and if the holes aren't already drilled, you can get them very close like everybody else! By the way out of the 50 pics I looked at, only 1 car had the trunk emblem and after looking at it for awhile, it doesn't look good with a spoiler in my opinion so my ride ain't gettin one.
