You use button head bolts in the inner fenders. The heads are low profile and they are rounded. You use an allen head wrench to turn them in and out. You can get them in a "good" hardware store (if any are still in business while trying to compete with Home Depot) or a someone like Stainless Works who sells "bolt kits". What width are the front wheels? Maybe you can order new front wheels and put those wheels in the rear with wider tires. Check the front end alignment also. Sometimes there is room there to gain some clearence if it's way out of adjustment.

the wheel width is 8" with a 4.5 backspace, Ill check the alignment, then try the bolts

My 235/45-17 is 2/10" wider section width and 3/10" taller than your tire with no rubbing on a 17x8 4.75 back spacing. You shouldn't need the button head fender bolts. Check your subframe bushings and your front end alignment, I bet you find the problem...

The subframe bushings are all new...I will check the alignment though

I agree with Dennis - something is not right. Most guys here run a 8" wide wheel with a 4.75" backspace or a little deeper like 5" They are also using a wider and taller tire like a 245/45. Some of these cars are lowered 3" or even a little more. With a 225 tire you should be OK. Are you rubbing on both sides in the same place? I'm guessing the subframe needs to be "adjusted". Good luck - let us know how you make out.

Well the town I live in has patched road and potholes everywhere, that could also be the cause, I cant wait until tomorrow to have the alignment done so hopefully that will help.

I dont think its the fender bolts because it seems to be hitting the top of the fenderwell when I hit those potholes

What front springs do you have? It sounds like you need more spring rate. Somewhere north of 600 lbs. Let us know.

If they are stock replacements I doubt they are even over 375lbs. Your discription of whats happening made it sound like the car is bottoming out. For a car that you want to handle that would be too soft. Hotchkis front springs would have the rate (600+ lbs) you need but they lower the car. I don't know if you want that. Read this http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=103250 then you may want to post a tread over in the suspension section where the experts are (which I'm not).
