I have a 69 RS that I bought disassembled and do not think the drive shaft is the right one. Can someone tell me how to measure (what point to point) and what the proper length should be????? Also note that the rearend with the car was an 81 and I exchanged it with a guy for a single leaf and made it into a multi leaf spring.

+1 for the form from Denny's Driveshaft. Even if you get one made somewhere else, they'll understand that form and make your shaft the right length.
Unless your car is 100% stock, you need to do the measurements on your car and have a driveshaft made to fit. There are too many places where something could have "moved" on a modified car to use someone else's number.
