Hey guys, is there a plug on the transmission for the reverse lights? My reverse lights dont come on when the car is in reverse.. I was wondering if there was an adjustment or something..
It's a 69/4-speed car.

Reverse lamps on 69 models need the entire backdrive linkage in place and working.

The reverse lamp switch is mounted inside the car, on the top of the steering column near the firewall. When the shifter is put in reverse, the backdrive linkage moves against the tab at the base of the steering column in the engine compartment, and the tab rotates a sleeve inside the column, which triggers the reverse lamp switch.

If you don't have the backdrive linkage, you'll have to rig up a shifter mounted (aftermarket) reverse lamp switch.

Is there any easy way to get to it/check it?

Its right under the dash on the steering column, close to the firewall, Like Eric said. The switch is white and has a pink and green wire running into it.

If its still wired, to check it you rotate the lever on the end of the steering shaft (under the hood). Usually people removed the linkage to get their headers to fit.

You have to rotate the column to reverse to get the key out. Many columns were wired to stay there back in the day, hence all the cars driving around with the reverse lights on.

Which is why most 69's with headers have no bulbs in the backup light sockets. :)
