I was wondering if anyone has ever put the door edge molding off of a 68 on a 69. some catalogs call it reveal molding some call it door ledge, i think it was mostly on 68 rs. I think it looks really good, and was wondering how well it would fit on a 69. any thoughts out there.

Hideaway, I don't know if they will fit, but IMO It's your car and you can do anything you want to it. I agree they look nice ON A 68. On a 69 however, you will probably get tired of everyone telling you that those belong on a 68 not a 69...just my .02...Mike

Take some measurments of the doors for both years. For some reason I want to say the 69 doors are a bit longer since the whole car (69) is 2" longer itself.

Jeff, the doors are the same length as the fuzzies inerechange. However, I don't know if the profiles are the same at the window sills.

The 69's don't have the "Coke bottle" body line at the bottom of the doors like the 67 & 68's do.
You could bolt the 3 pieces of trim on your 69 but it wouldn't fit as it does on a 68 and would hang out a little. If you have access to the trim just masking tape it on there for a look.

68RS, I think hideaway is asking about the reveal trim at the top of the door at the window fuzzie.

You make a good point, If Hideaway has access to the trim, he can see how it fits. maybe it would only require slight tweaking to fit.

I agree with Zuma, the trim does look nice, but many will tell you that it's not correct and that will get tiring. Last year I saw a 67 with a 68 grill and to me it stood out and I questioned the owner and he rolled his eyes like he's heard it before. Save the headache. graemlins/clonk.gif

I have trial fitted it and it fits great. I think I am gonna go with it.It really does add to the car.I don,t have a # matching anyway .If I just can get my paint man to finish sanding it with 1200 and finish buffing it, I will be in good shape. It really does look good, if he will just FINISH.
