o.k. may I was to vague with my last questions, so I will ask one question at a time. if a car(68) was orginally a 396 car and someone pulled the 396 out and put a 350 in would the p/s pump brackets be the same. also it is a quick ratio steering, the reason I'am asking is I'am going to put a 396 back in and I'am trying to have everything ready for the swap. thanks for any replies.

Classic industries has photos of them in the back of the catalog.
They show similar brackets to mount the pump but different adjusters.
Take a look at the catalog and see if that's what you have. http://www.classicindustries.com/

I think that there are 4 different p/s bracket configurations for the '68. (maybe more?)

1 for 6 cylinder. 1 for Big block. 2 for small blocks. (1 for standard and 1 for SS / Z28 cars). You can find the actual GM part numbers for the different brackets and pulleys at Camaros.org. That might help you figure out which pieces you can use and which ones you need to get. (my guess is that you'll need to get them all except maybe the pump cradle)
