Lol ty Doug.

Right now I am working alot so I can make a few purchases. Getting the nitrous system, the alternator brackets, the braided oil and trans dip sticks from lakar, the led tail light illumation stripe, new headers, new gears in the rear and axles. *Sign* I think that I need to hit the lotto.

But right now I have been studying for a promotion a work and working alot of hours, working on these credit cards and saving for the wedding in November.

Just crazy, I am having with draws not ordering and not working on the car.

Is there an aa for people like us?

Matt,

Yes keep her happy and you will be happy. Hopefully she is into cars also. That helps. I have been married 27 years to my high school sweetheart, been together since 1974 and I trained her right out of high school about cars. Hell she knows alot about them now that we argue over it. Half the time she is right.

Good luck on the marriage and the car.

Who does the 69 belong to at your house?

Erica doesnt like the build process bc how much money that u are spending. She likes going to ocean city when they cruisers are there. Last year she said she wanted to build a 70 style camaro and wanted it pink. Now this year she wants a truck I was think 67-72 style and gotta be pink.

Have fun getting #5 and #7 spark plugs in. My problem is I have a power booster in the way. It might not be to bad on your car. I have to put #7 plug in from the bottom of the car. I have the 2" ones and mine look a little different. Still nice headers. My car sits low and I hit them all the time.

Yes with drop spindles that car sits extremely too low. The transmission pan is about 1inch and a half from the ground. Yes that price did include everything. The only difference from the aston frames is the looks.

Alteast 2 inches. yes I put the the front end back on the car. I have to change one thing on the front and that is where the front core bolts to the frame. The crossmember will be welded to the frame. As for headers I will let u know when mine get here and take pics for ya.

They only way you can stretch a 67/68 is with the fiberglass stretched wheel wells from Harwood. Or have a good body man do his magic work with the metal.

To stretch the quarters correctly on a '67 or '68,they need to be done with a series of "pie cuts".....picture cutting a pie into slices. They need to be done that way because of the radius of the wheel opening in the quarter.

I'm here. I havent touched the car since I got the headers. And what do you know they dont fit. The number three tub on the passenger header slams into the fire wall and the drivers side fits but sit right up against the sterring rod. At this current time I am not really worried about anything bc I have been focusing on paying off two bills that I have right now. I have been workin so much these pass couple weeks. I also got a promotion too. I am a sgt. now. So I need to get training completed. So I will be on every now and then. Just taken my time.

I know that u mean. We use to have the same exhaust on a bigger motor in the 69 and u couldnt talk on the phone at all. Sometimes u could talk to the other person in the car. But you couldnt on the throttle at all.

I should be ordering more parts today. The shifter and the Line lock brake.

I used to have it dump before the rear end but everytime I pulled in somewhere it blew dust everywhere and it was loud by the tubs. It wa real bad when you had to park on the grass.

The car is looking great. Why don't you wire up the car yourself? There are a lot of great wiring kits out there. I did mine my self using a Painless Wiring harness. From what I hear there other harnesses from other companies that are even better. The new kits make it pretty easy. It takes some time, but it is not really hard to do. I had my car running in a weekend and the whole harness done in about a week working on and off a few hours at a time. My Painless kit had all the circiuts you'd need for a ProStreet car including things like electric fuel pump, fans, ignition, gauges, one wire alternator, console switches, etc. Even power windows and locks if you go that route. My car has been wired for about 2 years and I haven't has a single issue with the wiring or the harness. Like I said, wiring a car is really not that hard with the new options out there.

While you are down there would you check the back spacing on the wheels too ? Sorry for the trouble, just want to make sure I order the right thing the first time.

Not trying to hijack this thread.....but to correctly determine key measurements such as rear end width you need to determine one key element first.......your wheel & tire width(height)/backspacing. This will ultimately define such things as rear frame width, ladder bar length/location(or 4 link location). What works on one persons car might not work as intended on your car/or perhaps not at all. Start with the wheel and tire size you intend to use and build from there. If you use a 31" tall tire you shouldn't have to have the wheel openings stretched. Again...not tryin' to interfere.....just tryin' to save you some potential headaches.

:beers:

Well went today to work on the car.

We pulled out the motor and trans. Put in the new Torque Convertor. New 8inch ATI 4500

Pulled out the center section of the rear so that the new ring and pinion could go in.

Dave,

Yes I had the car a ladder bar set all along. I am changing over the center section to a mini spool. I had intentions on putting in the stock spindles i didnt get a chance to pick them up on friday morning. I am planning on maybe going back up in two weeks time. I am hoping that the addition roll cage bars are added and the rear is back together.

Is this going to be a street car or race car? Have fun with a spool and 4500 rpm convertor on the street. That convertor will never lock up and the trans will run hot on the street. I'm just saying. Been there ,,done that...

Now if it is a race car no problem.
