View Full Version : 69 SS L-48/T-350 Vin and Assy Stamp LOCATIONS ???
CamarosRus Apr 29th, 08, 09:52 AM Hello all, Fellow in Chicago interested in buying EBAY 69 SS 350 from Seattle dealer.
Gets ahold of me via word of mouth, about checking out his list of misc items.
Can someone confirm that Norwood 69 L-48 has VIN stamped on bellhousing flange starting with 19Nxxxxxx ......................and what IF the car is L.A. built?????
And where on 69 T-350 might assy data be, and was there a VIN on T-350's (SS-350 car)
I'm pretty good on finding diff info......Did a 69 SS 350 come with 12 Bolt or 10 Bolt
Did they have "E" stamp for Eaton Posi
I'll check back here...........but answers to my CamarosRus@aol.com would be most appreciated.
Thanks so much, Chuck Sharin
camarodude67 Apr 29th, 08, 10:39 AM Hmm, going to try to answer this...
350 Vin # on Block is on Front pad and or Atlernate vin on Oil Filler Pad (Sometimes)
Turbo 350 Date code is on passenger side of pan of transmission. I don't belive there is a serial #, that would only be for Muncie 4-speed transmissions.
12-bolts should be used for 69 SS cars.
Others will chime in here if I mis-informed you.

CamarosRus Apr 29th, 08, 11:27 AM Turbo 350 is on right side trans housing on PAN RAIL.......can you give example of a date code to look for???????
How about 69 12 Bolt date code example along with gear ratio example (T-350/L-48)
Thanks,

Here is a Jerry M cert on a LM1 that I owned:
BL1114 G1 K58
BL 3.07 Gear (no posi)

That is why POP (Protect-O-Plates) are good to have but rare... Will verifiy
the drivetrain to the car/vin #.

Jonesy Apr 29th, 08, 08:15 PM I have seen an 69 L48 with 350 turbo trans and the trans was stamped on the bell flange where it bolts to the engine. It is towards the top on the drivers side. You can see it if you shine a flashlight down there. Thats the only place I have seen a Turbo 350 stamped.
