I was looking through some information, and saw a well documented car with a late July build date based on the VIN, but the numbers matching M22 was dated for the end of April. Is this possible and if so how? Were M22s batch produced due to low usage? Just curious, thanks

John3366 - Not sure if M22,s were batch built, but that would explain the dating IMO. My own Documented Z28 is a 06A car ( all June cars are 06A, mine was built June 18 ) and the trans is P9D28C. GM of Canada Docs as well as the ORIGINAL Protecto Plate . FYI. I have allways wondered why the trans was dated April, when everything else on the car is Dated Mid May/69 on. Diff is BU0602G2.

Since the Muncie plant built M22s for the entire GM line up they were likely in continuous albeit low production; maybe 20-30 per day. They were shipped to Camaro assembly plants in batches and used as needed. But like engines my db indicates transmissions were not used on a first-in first-out basis. My db has an 05C car with an April 19 M22 and an 05D car with an April 14 M22. I have a POP for an 06A L78 Camaro; it has a March 14 M22.
