Hi Guys, I have a 68 Firebird and replaced it with a date coded 68 Camaro 3:08 posi rear, only thing I could find here locally and bolted in no problem.

Here is the deal, the Driveshaft will not attach to the rear end, the U-joint is to big. So I went to Napa to get another u-joint and could not match anything was there for 3 hours........

So the question, Do I just get a 67 68 69 Camaro Driveshaft, will this work with a Hydromatic transmission (Equivalent to Camaro Powerglide).

Thanks Guys....

The Chevy 10-bolt rear uses a 1310 u-joint. The BOP 10-bolt uses something else, but I am no certain which one. Let me look around and see if I can figure it out.

Jeff-

The listings I have show the joint for a V8-equipped 68 Firebird with Turbo-Hydromatic to be a 1344/3R. So you should need a 1344/3R to 1310 conversion/hybrid joint.

Precision Part No. 372
Spicer 5-3022X
Neapco 3-3130
Rockford K3022

Hi Eric,

OK, will go back to NAPA and try again... I'm driving those guys nuts. I understand the Firebird uses inside pins, but it is the caps size and u-joint lenth that will not match the
Camaro 10-bolt rear, that is why I was considering another driveshaft....

Thanks!
