2 quick questions for those who have done a recent engine break-in
1) has anyone used the high octane race gas that you would buy from like Heffners I think it is the Cam2 (Sunoco 110) as a fuel to break-in an engine ???? or is this a bad idea due to octane content.
The reason why I am asking is that I am from the North East Coast and I am unable to find a gas station that sells fuel without Ethanol.
2) Any Team Camaro members noth of me that knows of a gas station that sells feul without Ethanol ??? I am on the Mass/NH border.
Thanks for your help.

As far as I know, all US gas has at least 10% ethanol now that they phased out MTBE. If you're going to run pump gas in the end, I don't see the value in breaking it in on race gas. Maybe I'm missing something.

To clarify things my engine is on my subframe...That is where I am going to do the break-in. I will be posting a vid of the break-in next weekend. The body is a long way from being done so once i do the break-in I am going to winterize the motor until the body meets up with the subframe. Since Ethanol creates moisture and condensation I do not want to go over everything in the motor a year or two from now. One of the disadvantages of living up here in NewEngland.
I am still under the impression that north of Concord NH they sell gas without Ethanol...

Ethanol doesn't create moisture, it absorbs it. Condensation will happen with or without it in a steel tank that is not full. Ethanol is somewhat corrosive, but at 10% it's pretty minimal. You might be able to get ethanol free gas if you get far enough away from major cities. Why bother though? Just drain the what's left and put it in your daily driver if you're concerned.

Engine break-ins are done with a high rpm and no load which is a partially open throttle resulting in a high manifold vacuum. This also means a low VE.
Regular crap pump gas, or the lowest, cheapest non-ethanol fuel if you must, will be good enough even if you had a comp ratio as high as 12:1.
