I am in the process of installing the lower front windshield molding on my 68 coupe. It has two attachments at the end that screw into the door hinge area. I seem to have trouble getting these end pieces into place. Do I have to pull the fender out a little to get them through?? I was doing complete teardown when I took them off so I don't remember.

Try using a hex head sheet metal screw. I hink a 5/16 head size will work. There is not enough room to get a phillips head scew tightened. I think the trim bracket has the end slotted so you can install the screw then slide the trim bracket onto it. Hope this helps.

I tightened those down with the fenders off myself. Maybe you could get in there through the door cavity with the fenders in place, but I don't know.

It can be done with fenders on, put tape around area so no scraping occurs. I believe I put them on by attaching to moulding and slipping thru the door jam, its a little trickey but can be done. I think you may have to bend clip a liitle to slip it down into position and then bend back when in position.
