He just removed the picture of the bucket. He's also dropped the bogus story of how he got the tags and now trys to cover his ass by saying "history unknown." 69camcon May 6th, 08, 08:50 AM 100% Mr. Bucket auction. He's using the exact same listing template and colors from his previous auctions. tar6569 May 6th, 08, 09:16 AM That guy has used a variety of ebay id's and changed his location numerous times. He used to be based out of canada and maybe he still is. 69morph and 69posi are the same person. I think he still is canada though because he says he accepts USPS international money orders. And how convenient, they all have X33 D80! :) PROZ11 May 6th, 08, 02:26 PM He actually has the bucket picture in the other bogus trim tag listing. Here's the best part.... ......"OTHER TAGS AVAILABLE .... Z28 , X33, X77......BIG BLOCK X22, X66, X44.....SMALL BLOCK X11, X55.......Z10, Z11....CONVERTIBLES ,COUPES HISTORY NOT KNOWN .....SOLD AS IS -WHERE IS... NO GUARANTEES ON PLATE ........NO SERIAL PLATES Most of these bogus "tag guys" put a very high reserve on these so they won't sell. Then they offer them to the high bidders off eBay so ther is not recourse through eBay or negative feedback left. I beileve the last time he had these listed there were no bids at all. Which doesn't mean he doesn't sell any. It's more of an "I have trim tags for sale ad" than an actual auction. EMAIL ME WITH YOUR REQUESTS... CHANGING COLOR , INTERIOR .... NEED A TRIM TAG .......I MAY HAVE ONE...PICS AVAILABLE"...... . 69camcon May 6th, 08, 03:53 PM He is out of Calgary. He has plenty of US accounts but all the tags are shipped out of Calgary. I've investigated this guy quite a bit and got in touch with previous buyers. They all actually were quite happy with their purchases and the tags all used on cars missing tags or for upgrading. It's a shame but cars with his tags are being sold on ebay, it's part of the hobby so buyers really have to research everything before making a big purchase. al8apexer May 7th, 08, 02:09 AM cancelled!!!! yay! 67z28 May 7th, 08, 05:13 AM He's Back!! http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/69-CAM-Z28-X33-X22-X66-X11-Z11-TRIM-TAG-COWL-TAG_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ80736QQihZ001QQitem Z110249662650QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW PROZ11 May 7th, 08, 05:54 AM He is out of Calgary. Why would customers be happy with repop tags weathered to look old with BS about the "unknown" history? Why wouldn't they just buy them new for less money? . 69camcon May 7th, 08, 10:04 AM A lot of people out there don't know any better. Crap, half the people I have met with G1's don't even give a crap about the trim tag and don't know squat about them. If it wasn't for boards like this or the internet, tons of people would get scammed on these tags. So for the casual buyer that doesn't do his research, a fake tag will pass with flying colors. I even warned some buyers that they are fakes and they really didn't care as long as it looked good. Why would customers be happy with repop tags weathered to look old with BS about the "unknown" history? Why wouldn't they just buy them new for less money? . PROZ11 May 7th, 08, 12:01 PM This listing (110249662650) has been removed or is no longer available. Please make sure you entered the right item number. If the listing was removed by eBay, consider it canceled. It looks like both tag auctions have been cancelled by eBay. I know a lot of guys say it doesn't do any good to report these auctions to eBay but it looks like in this case it worked. For now anyway. It may be legal to sell a trim tag on ebay but he defiantly had some eBay listing violations his auctions. That's probably why these have been cancelled by eBay. I'm sure once he figures out what caused the cancellation he will just re-word the listing (again) and put them back up. 67z28 May 7th, 08, 12:16 PM Boy it doesn't take em' long to cancel an auction. I put it here earlier today. Good for Ebay. PROZ11 May 7th, 08, 12:29 PM Boy it doesn't take em' long to cancel an auction. I put it here earlier today. Good for Ebay. I know why these 2 trim tag auctions were cancelled so fast. I reported both of them. It's wasn't that he was listings trim tags that got them cancelled. It was part of his description that was in violation. If you report the listing simply because he's selling trim tags (fake or real) eBay will not cancel the auction. That's not in violation of thier listing policies. . 1969ProStreetCamaro May 7th, 08, 06:11 PM :hurray:Here's one from me PROZ11.:beers:.BTW that ProStreet 'vert looks killer as usual. I've had some engine work done(rebuild & dyno tuned) on my '69. I've got 648 HP now :D. My dyno sheet was faxed to Coan Racing Transmissions & Converters today. They are going to build a torque converter for the engine that will maximize the engine's horsepower and torque curve:D:D. tar6569 May 8th, 08, 03:50 PM I know why these 2 trim tag auctions were cancelled so fast. I'm curious, what part of the listing is in violation? 69camcon May 8th, 08, 04:33 PM I'm curious, what part of the listing is in violation? What ever the violation was don't list it on here because those same tag sellers read these boards. Keep it to yourself and keep on reporting them when they list them on ebay. PROZ11 May 8th, 08, 06:41 PM What ever the violation was don't list it on here because those same tag sellers read these boards. Keep it to yourself and keep on reporting them when they list them on ebay. Yup. I hear ya. I won't put it in the thread. Nothing earth shattering really. The auctions were almost instantly removed once I pointed it out to eBay. It won't work on all trim tags listed on eBay. Just the guys who repeatedly list them and sell them (or try to) regularly. Especially mass produced repops with a BS story. The guy who sells one never returns will probably get away with it. But it worked and it'll defianly limit his ability to sell his bottomless "bucket full" of bogus tags. At least on eBay. But eBay will tell him why the auctions were cancelled and he will get them back on. But, I assure you his "bucket o tags" business is going to suffer. Maybe enough that it won't be worth it for him to sell them. Remeber the guys who say don't bother to report these type of things, sometimes it is worth it. The harder you make it on these guys the fewer of these (especially fake ones) will be out there. JohnZ May 10th, 08, 07:17 PM "Posi69" is also the #1 creator/seller of fake '67-up Corvette tank stickers, "aged to perfection" if you like. |
