Anybody have a trick for getting the speed nut to snug down on the prongs that hold the "396" et al logos on an assembled car. I can reach back inside the fender but there isn't enough room to get the leverage to force the locking nut all the way down.

I went through the same agony when putting the camaro emblem back on my front fenders. The drivers side went on but the middle bows out a little so there is a gap. After many attempts on the paasenger side I bought some emblem adhesive from 3M and glued it on. No gap, has been on for a few weeks no issues.

Good luck.

I had trouble finding nuts for mine ... the Body shop supply told me use barrel nuts, nobody puts the nuts on the back anymore. Barrel nuts push in from the outside of the fender then the emblem pushes in to them.
