I am finishing a complete resto of my 69 396 RS/SS Convertible and need some help identifying the fasteners in the convertible top frame. Can anyone tell me what the fasteners that hold together the top frame brackets together that are near the drivers and passengers windows? The fasteners are in many places on the frame and look to be some type of cold or tinners rivet. Does anyone know where to buy these fasteners? No one I can find seems to sell them. They look like a rivet but don't clamp the frame brackets together tightly, they just hold them together. They have a thin head on one side and look to be peened over slightly on the other end. Any help would be very appreciated as I am trying to get this car done!! Thanks, Bob:beers:

The hinge pin in the center of the side windows was never ment to be taken apart. The other sections have bolts and most are not reproduced. Can you provide a little more info on which ones you need?

Kevin, one of the small brackets (also mounts to one of the top bows) that attach to the main rail running from front to rear of the car has broken in two right at the hole that the fastener goes through. I had that bracket welded back together (mainly because I didn't want to buy a new top frame at $799.00) and now I need to fasten it back to the other small bracket and main rail. I could not find anyone that sold the bracket or fastener. Thanks, Bob

Hmm, I cant quite picture it. I have a couple spare frames and parts and may be able to help, but I need to see what you mean. You have pics?

Look in the ZIP Product catalog....they have a complete top rivet set (for a Corvette?) for $90. I need one for my ragtop too....

Bob, I got the pics and will look tonight. Power or manual top? BTW, that is an ugly break!

Kevin, I have a manual top. You are right, that is an ugly break but I can see how it did break. There is not much meat on either side of the hole so anything causing stress in that area is sure to damage the bracket. I purchased the car with the bracket broken so I don't know how it happened. The pic shows the unfinished repair. I will grind down the area so it doesn't look so bad and paint it after it has been cleaned up. Thank again for your help. Bob also gave me a good lead about where to find the rivets. I looked them up on zip products and they do have a kit to do all the rivets but I only need one. They haven't called me back yet to let me know if I can just buy one or if they are correct for Camaro's. Thanks!

Bob, Thanks for the info. I called Zip but it was after hours so they haven't got back with me yet. I expect they are the same for a Camaro but I am sure they will let me know. Thank again, Bob T.

Bob, I checked my spares and this must be a common problem because they all have bolts in that area. You might try that fix too.

I have a really nice driver's side manual top frame section if you're interested.

Thanks Kevin. I think I am going to use some type of a shoulder bolt.
