Those are the alignment holes for the factory. One half of the wheelhousing was placed on 3 dowel pins and the opposite half was then placed over the pins and welded together. Made for a faster and more acurate alignment of the two halves. Be sure that when you install the two halves together you align those holes.

That makes sense. I always wondered why they put the holes up an inch or so off the bottom. I thought they were for drainage and the location was an engineering screwup. I also like how water drains out of the back window area. graemlins/angry.gif

Hey Jonesy
Those are the two holes I am talking about. What is their purpose? Also, how does the water drain from the rear window.I am going to put in a new rain gutter and have been scratching my head on how it drains.
Thanks,David

The water drains into the channel that the glass sits into and slowly rusts it out. :D
Sorry the devil made me do it. I just refinished that whole rear window area due to rust there. Keep an eye on it, there are no drains designed into that area.
