Could someone tell me what the overall length of a rear shock for a multi leaf setup should be in order to operate without bottoming out?

Well I pulled off the IAS Edelbrock rear shocks and let them fully extend and they measured out at 23". It appears to me that they do not have enough travel and hit their end travel on rougher roads. I will have to get extenders or change them out I guess. The tech at Edelbrock said they would work....oh well.
