I have multiple issues, hope you can help!!

1 - my fans do not come on when temp nearly redlines. fans also do not work with ac on. if i jumper them, they both will work. how do i diagnose if it is coolant sensor, relay, or ecm?? the thermostat is new. also, if i put a hypertech chip in, will that fix the problem (assuming it is inthe ecm)?

2 - car runs and idles great cold. when it gets around 200degrees or so, the idle surges, and will sometimes stall if i am at a stop. also, when this is happening, the idle does not change from Drive to Park, just keeps surging. when on the accelerator there is no problem. if it does stall it fires right back up. also when this happens the car smells very "gassy" exhaust. the engine light is not on.

3- my horn is messed up. it was missing the contact wire and horn pad, i got both of those and tried to install the wire with the spring and plastic connector, and the horns will stay on, even without the horn pad connected to the wire.

4- my oil pressure guage is reading low but i think incorrectly. it starts at like 10psi and barely moves with rpm and hen goes to 0 and stays when it's hot. oil is full and clean, engine runs good (aside from problem #2), and no noticable engine noise. is this a oil pressure switch??

THANKS TO ANYONE THAT CAN HELP! I LOVE MY IROC!!

I had a problem with my fan that cuts on at the higher temp. and had a mechanic wire it to the lower fan relay. So they come on at the same time. Not sure if the hypertech thing will fix it.

As far as the rough idle, mine did this and would stall at red lights. It turned out to be my TPS, throttle position sensor. Its located beside the TB.

Are you getting any codes?

The oil pressure gauges are notorious for being wrong. But as your oil gets mileage on it you will probably notice it registering less pressure. I'd get it tested as if it is low you'll destroy your engine.

Sorry I wasn't much help, but I'd get it to a shop and have them do a good look over if your not very mechanically inclined. I'm in that category.

Coolant sensor for fans is bad or bad ground at sensor due to corrosion, check pass head for sensor.

Oil problem could oil sending unit. Cheap part to change out before going deeper.

Hot idle problem could be due to being too hot for IAC to work or faulty control from ECM.

There is a water hose to the throttle body for heat. Works great in the northern lats but down in Texas it may run too hot. Does it happen after a very long run?

Probably too late as it's been a month since question asked
but check the relay and there is a fuse that i believe should be on the drivers side of the engine bay. If fan motors are going out they are pulling too many amps and the fuse will blow.trace the wire from the fan and you should be able to find the fuse. I think it's the orange wire.
