Anyone with this engine in a similar vehicle?

What kind of mileage do you get around town and on the highway?

I had the 4.8 in a 2000 Extended Cab Silverado. It also had 3.42 gears. I thought it was a good engine. I would get around 17.5 mpg. About 50-50 highway/city mpg. I traded the truck for a 2002 Extended Cab Silverado with the 5.3 ltr. with 3.73 gears. The 2002 got around 15.5 on the same drive to work.

That's about what I got. 01 Silverado ext cab 2wd w/ 3.42s, got 16-17 around town, 20-22 highway.
