is there anyway to find out what your engine is even after the block has been decked ?
even though i know it was a 396/402, i'd like to know what it actually was and what it came out of.
the numbers on the back of the block are:
3969854 conv1 gm6
it has hi-performance on the block, steel crank, 2 bolt mains, oval port, open chambered heads with 2.065 intake, 1.72 exhaust. i believe, if i can remember, it had the suffix "cfw", not positive and now i can't tell because of the block being decked.
can anyone tell me if there is a way to know what the suffix is.
i believe it came out of a chevelle, 1970-72
thanks for the help.
