View Full Version : rear seat belt orientation
RJBaileyrn May 17th, 08, 08:02 AM Hi guys,
Putting my rear sear belts back in, but can't recall how they go. Anyone have a pic? If not, I think there are three sets, but can't recall which side the buckles go on, or if each set is the same placement.
Help please
thanks

Eric Kammerer May 17th, 08, 08:08 AM I have always seen them with the buckles for the two outside positions in the center of the car; in other words, the belts with the metal tongue go on the outer position against the quarter panel, and the receiving buckles are along the trans tunnel.
I have seen the center belt position both ways, with the buckle on either side of the tunnel, but I have no idea which is factory correct.
Did you try searching "rear seatbelt" here? I seem to recall more "expert" discussion.
Eric Kammerer May 17th, 08, 08:10 AM Here's a thread with 69 rear belts in OE locations http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=120186&highlight=rear+seatbelt
Looks like the two outers are as I described, and the center has the tongue belt on the driver side and the buckle belt on the passenger side of the hump.
RJBaileyrn May 17th, 08, 08:12 AM I did a search, but every post I saw has differing opinions on which way they go. I don't have the Fisher Body manual, so can't say for sure. Would like to know the exact placement before I put the seat back in.
Thanks for your help, though.

RJBaileyrn May 17th, 08, 08:19 AM Only problem is you can't see for certain what the other side looks like.
From the left side of the car, its definitely male- female on the left, male-female in the center, but what about the right side, could be either way!!
Thanks for that pic though, do you have one of other side?
thanks
