was 250 for fronts when I provided everything but new foam which they did. 200 for back and no need for new foam. Pricey but well worth it. I tried doing it myself it was no fun at all with the heavy gauge wire they used to attach the old covers to frame and such. I used PUI covers and the shop I used said they were cheap. They are just pressed (molded stitching and details) Oh well.. Next covers just going to have them done completly by my shop. Looks like a pair of cheap shoes lol You know when the stitching is pressed onto the shoe. I thought PUI was better, people always talk like I got PUI covers .. Maybe thats how they are supposed to look, but after seeing the real stitched stuff they did I was disappointed for sure. Anyway 400 to 450 prolly. Have it done

Junior- I wish I had known about you before I took my seats to the upholsterer in Aurora. The four week job has turned into a 6 week excuse marathon. Of course, with a deadline, it seems like everybody I have hired to do something for me has let me down.
I'll make the drive to Springfield next time I have a project.

Just had my rears done. I supplied the covers, they did the work and supplied the foam and burlap. Cost was $175 (rears only) including having to "shorten" (restitch the ends) of an aftermarket style cover that was for a Camaro for my Firebird.

I supplied front buns, springs and front and rear covers. Upolsterer put everything in front and rear, charged $300 labor, but that was 2 years ago.

With the correct tools it's pretty simple to do. You'll need a heat gun and hog ring pliers for the installation. The hog rings are the thick gauge wire that Jeff was referring to. There's a ton of writeups available on how to correctly install a new seat cover. It would probably take me about a day to do it again. The first time it took the better part of a weekend.

I've done several sets of seats now and they all came out pretty good using the PUI covers. Get a good set of hog ring pliers that are spring loaded and some cutters to remove the old hog rings. But it does some time and patience to make sure the covers go on smooth with no wrinkles. And it can get painfull if you use hand tools like I did.

If you have a small steamer you would be less likely to damage the vinyl with it than a heat gun,but either one work's.And I know most people don't have a steamer to use,but if you or the wife/girlfriend has one that you use to steam your cloths, that will also do the trick.
I quit counting the seat covers I have replaced a insert or side panel in that soomeone has blistered the vinyl using a heat gun while they were installing their seat covers. And don't get me wrong I am not saying don't do it yourself, just use care when doing it.

I just had everything put together at a shop here in Bakersfield (brought him the new houndstooth fronts & rear covers, plus new front seat cusions) and I talked him down to $600. Finished at $700 because he had to rebuild some of my front lower springs. However, read thread on seat cushion help also in this section. Sounds like I paid more than I should have, but they did great work. They also recovered my headrests to match (mine were cracked originals) and you can't tell them from new.
