I'm installing my new pump, tubes and cyl. today..
I want to make sure I don't have my tubing hooked up wrong.
'67'68 top switch in under the dash..
1) When you push the switch, towards the firewall, does your top go UP or Down?
2) Is the filler opening on your tank, pointing towards the drivers side, or passengers side?
Thank you in advance..

Switch up, top goes up. Switch down(firewall), top goes down.

Everett, on my car when I push the switch towards the firewall the top goes up. When pulled back toward me it goes down.
Filler/bleeder hole on pump faces passenger side.

Reservoir (and therefore the filler hole) on my 68 pump went to passenger side.
The switch harness will fit either way, and I have no idea which way GM did it. To me it made sense that when I rocked the switch to the rear of the car, the top moved the same way and went down. When rocked forward toward the front of the car, the top moved the same way and went up.

Apparently, a negative coefficient was placed in the formula. Human Engineering believes in the KISS Principle, and so do I. But then, whom am I?
Up = ON; top up.
Down = OFF, top down.

Mike & Ted - Thank you very much for the info.. I had a 50/50 chance.
I had my pump turned the right direction, but will need to swap my hoses around.

Mine (unmolested 67) is "push for close", "pull for open"
Hope this helps
