The center hole of the steering coupler is too small and won't fit over the shaft on the gear box.

The box is a new/rebuilt Cardone unit and the coupler is a Lares 200. I checked out the Lares web site and they list 3 possibilities for a '69 Camaro; 200, 201, and 202. I purchased the parts through Advance Auto ... I figured they would know enough to give me the one that would fit the box I was getting, but I guess not. Anyway, the cast part of the coupler cracked when I was tapping it on, so it's going back for replacement.

Has anyone ever used a Lares coupler and do you know if a 201 or 202 would fit?

Never used that brand but if it is a power box GM used 2-different rag joints from what I have found out. One is a 3/4" and other is 13/16" diameter shafts, my replacement box from Lees is a 13/16 and the replacement joint I got was a 3/4 which wouldn't fit so....this is when I found out there were 2 types, most likely you have the smalle4 3/4" shaft, the manual shaft diameter is 5/8" if I remember correctly. I got the correct joint from mine from SC&C.
