I've removed my steering wheel a number of times along with the lock plate to get my horn to work and I never ran into this problem. I put everthing back together the same way and now my steering wheel is off center to the left. I'm thinking I counter by moving the horn tower and lock plate to the right to help comphensate? Not sure I can do this. Do I need to get the can aligned?

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The alignment marks should line up - on the steering wheel and on the steering hub - to do it right the right way.

If the marks are already lined up, and wheel off center, time for a front end alignment

Can you expand on the marks. Obviously I've been removing without knowing about these marks.

Thanks!

If you look on the steering shaft, and steering wheel, you will see vertically etched marks that should line up if the steering wheel is sitting in the correct notch/groove.

Although if the column was ever rebuilt by the @#$!@# @#$@s that Rick's bought their rebuilt columns from, the chisel mark in the shaft will point the wrong direction and won't line up anymore.
