I recall reading somewhere to stay away from 4 piston calipers when doing a front disc conversion on my 68. I'm speaking mainly about doing it from donor cars, not new parts. Is this true and if so, can anyone tell me why???

I'll guess and say because they are leaky??? They need to have stainless sleeves installed as the old iron bores would pit from rust and then leak because of the uneven surface.
FWIW, I have four piston calipers on my 67 coupe and had them on my 67 ragtop....I had one original set rebuilt and sleeved and the other set was brand new castings.
