The round valve below the booster is leaking out of the back where the dust cover is. Anyone take one of these apart? Is it an O ring or will I need to replace the whole unit? If I need to replace it does anyone know where I can pick one up new?
Thanks,
Greg

Is this what you are referring to?

I'm sure they are rebuildable. I've never had the 67-69 valve apart, but I have had the 70 and later valves apart. A couple of O rings seals the things up. I imagine you can pick them up at NAPA or some place like that. Just make sure you get O rings for brake fluid, as it may eat up a standard O ring.

Heartbeat City sells the rebuild kit for your valve. The seal that is leaking is a flat o-ring, I don't think a regular o-ring will fit properly in the groove. Mine had a slight leak. I took it apart and found the seals to look good but there was a slight build-up on the shaft where it seals. I used fine steel wool to polish the shaft and reassembled. The valve is woking fine with no leaks.

Karp's Brake in the Los Angeles area will do it for $65.

Thanks guys. From the description on ebay - The valve is mounted off the stud of the master cylinder and holds off pressure so the rear drums will kick on a second before the front disc's. The fluid builds up pressure and once it by passes the spring in the valve it applies pressure to the front brakes. - it looks like I dont even need it. I've changed my rear drums to disc and have plumbed in a porportioning valve.

You are correct that you don't need it with disc brakes. A proportioning valve is all that is needed. That is how my disc/disc is setup.
