:confused:Can you get lowering blocks for a 67 with 12 bolt or do i need to buy different leaf springs. OR PULL A LEAF Also lowered front end now the tires rub when i hit a small bump, Im thinking of changing to new shocks. any input on shocks would also help

Hey. I just pulled the lowering blocks out of my 67. You can get them (I used blocks from Summit that were advertised for an S-10 - 3" U-bolts), but if you are running multi-leafs with stock mono perches, I wouldn't recommend using them. Mine cracked in half within about 30 miles.

I ended up pulling two leafs out of my 5-leaf springs and running without the blocks. It lowered it a bit from the 5-leafs, but not as much as the blocks.

The other alternative is having your spings de-arched. I might end up doing this down the road.

Mtnhopper,
do you have before and after pics of pulling the 2 leafs? If not, how much would you say it dropped the rear puuling the 2 leafs? Which ones did you pull, the 2 smallest ones? I'm going to be doing this in about a month after I finish swapping motor and tranny.

The pic below is the "before" picture (5-leafs with no lowering blocks). I don't have pics of the car with 3-leafs and no lowering blocks, but I am going to take some this weekend.

The pics on this thread show it with 3-leafs and 1" blocks (which I just removed) http://www.camaros.net/forums/showthread.php?t=133177

I'd estimate that removing the two shortest leafs lowered the rear about 1 1/2" (since removing the leafs and adding blocks lowered it about 2 1/2").

I took the traction bars off when I pulled the leafs out and replaced them with the stock shock plates. I haven't had a problem with wheel hop.
