I plan to swap out the flowmasters in the future for sure. Not sure I will pick up much at this power level.

Good luck on the 11's! Hope you get good air and you should be there.
Why the converter change (just curious).
We are taking the new racecar to the track for the first time this weekend too, looks like good weather for us

Chris....my cam is pretty small. Its a solid flat tappet with 274/280 adv...236/242 at .050 and 534/544 lift(1.6's). Lash is set at .016. Not sure what shes tips the scale at. I would guess around 3400 or so.

Doug...Im keeping my fingers crossed!

Sean......I changed the converter becuase my BTE was just to loose at part throttle and freeway cruiseing with the GV engaged. The Continental feels WAY better at part throttle.
Hope it does not lose much coming out of the whole. If need be I will put some more gear in it. I hoping the new converter is more efficent and helps the mph out a bit.

How did it go?

6D9
May 24th, 08, 10:35 AM
Went good!

First pass...felt like it hooked good and for some reason I was not paying attention to the light at the end of the traps and I think I let of a little bit early. First pass....

12.04 at 113.75 mph...my 60 foot was 1.80

Next pass...

I did a real good burn out and got on the converter a bit more than the first time. Also made sure I stayed in it pass the lights.....

11.89 at 115.03!!!!!......60 foot was 1.72

I am pumped!!!! Needless to say the was last last pass I made since I hit my goal and I wanted to leave on a good note. Plus I drove it to the track thats an hour away. I cant beileve this sucker ran 115! Its got a tiny cam/small headers/flowmasters/ps/and power robbing TH400/9"/GV overdrive. I think next time I am gonna try and get on the converter a bit harder. If that does not work then a bit more rear gear or a small nitrous kit. But I think with the 115 trap some 11.6's should be possible! All in all a great night!

congrats!
Awesome! Get that sixty down a bit and 11.6s wont be hard.
some magnaflows and 3inch exhaust would help out too.:)

Nice rides. Your car looks very well set up. It defiantly looks like the fastest out of your group.

My car would probably be in the high to mid 12s but i know the only way to find out is take to the track.

I don't think i ever had this car pinned threw all the gears yet, shes does get off on some nice burn outs, but haven't yet let her have all of it.

Thanks guys I am pretty happy. She goes pretty good for a mild combo! I think some 11.6-11.7's should not be to hard. The 1 hour drive up and back was fun as well....just getting out on the open highway is a blast!

Very good running combo! Congrats!

Seeing as you have the GV, what's the effective gear at the end of the quarter? I'm curious where your rpm is at 'cause it looks like you hit the sweet spot to say the least.

I only use the gearvendor on the freeway for overdrive. I thought about trying 2nd over but it seems to run pretty good just running it thru the regular gears.

Hey 6D9 what gear were you in at the end of the 1/4 mile and what was it tacking.

I really like the fact that you kicked some but out there, awesome 69 camaro to.

Thanks Sean...thats what I really wanted. A true street car that I can drive ANYWHERE. I would love to do the Hotrod powertour in it. I had a hard time not going crazy with radical parts but I am glad I didnt. This thing idles at 650rpm with a mild lope to it. Cruises down the freeway like a dream! But there is always that bug that wants to go nuttier...but I will try and keep it under control. Down the road a small nitrous kit would be fun to try and play with the bigger kids on the block!
