I ordered a replacement upper top cowl panel (defroster vents and radio speaker outline) for my 68 Camaro and when I removed the existing panel it revealed a very rusty subsurface, I think it is referred to as the upper cowl panel. The rust is confined to the overlap area, about 3-4 inches wide, and is worst for aout 2 1/2 feet either side of the speaker. Is there anywere I can go to get a repalcement piece to splice in rather then ordering the entire upper cowl panel?
Thanks
Just went through this with my 69..You can order the upper and lower cowl assy complete for your 68, the wiper motor hole will be different ( it is the 67 round one) you will have to modify the replacement piece to accept your wiper motor. I ordered this for my 69 and was happy with the fit and finish but could not use it because there are other changes on the 69 such as a different dash which is supported from the inner cowl and the stamping on the drivers side was different (it would work but would look wrong for a 69) I will be patching mine as when the dash replacement is installed you won't see any of the repairs anyway.

Thanks for the response MJM. I really only need the horizonal piece of the upper cowl panel that goes on under the piece I am replacing, which is upper dash panel. I know that in Canada they are looking for $635 for the entire upper cowl panel so I think I will try and repair what I have and like you said no one will ever see it anyway.
Thanks again.
